2007 SANTA BARBARA COUNTY SYRAH

Santa Barbara County
SYSB small

I’m obviously biased; but I think this wine is simply too good for the price. Sure we’ve made flashier syrahs, but in every way this Santa Barbara County blend is elegant, correct, and delicious. The aroma has a subtle but persistent peppery, exotic spice aspect that is beguiling. And the flavor is packed with fine fruit and an alluring earthiness. It’s great now and will continue to evolve for many years to come.

Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar

“Inky ruby. Pungent aromas of blackberry, tobacco, black olive and licorice. This is really syrah. Round, broad and sweet, with concentrated dark berry and licorice pastille flavors enlivened by harmonious acidity. Really stains the palate on the back end, finishing broad, smoky and long, with suave tannins and a kick of black pepper.” – JR 91 Points
