2000 VIN GRIS – ROSÉ

Californiavds-rose-03

In years when the crop of red grapes is a little too large, or the berry size bigger than we like, we adjust the grape skin-to-juice ratio of the red ferments by draining off some juice before fermentation begins. This becomes our Vin Gris, a dry pink wine which is treated like a white wine: barrel fermented in French oak, left on the lees until bottling, and captured young and fresh. The 2000 Vin Gris is a blend of Pinot Noir, Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache that boasts a delightfully bright aroma and zippy flavors, making it a perfect match for almost any food.
